Oakura Bay beach is a beautiful safe beach for children, offering scenic walks to the Whangaruru Harbour & a coastal walk to Mokau Beach. Bay of Islands & Russell is only a 1 hour drive on a scenic tar sealed road. There are more bush & coastal walks available at the Dept. of Conservation Farm Parks at Whangaruru North, Mimiwhangata, & the bush walks to the hills above the Punaruku Stream. We run Oakura Bay Cruises & provide Fishing, Diving, & Cruising Trips on our large 33ft Power Catamaran "M. V. Ruawaka". We cover the area from Cape Brett to the Poor Knights Islands, the best diving spot in N. Z. also down to Tutukaka. Tea & Coffee, Rods & Bait provided.
