This lovely one bedroom apartment is just a five minute stroll from both the golden sandy beach and the town centre with its shop, bars and restaurants to suit all pockets.
It is in a small, private complex and overlooks the swimming pool so you can keep an eye on the children. It can sleep 3/4 people and comes with everything you need to relax and enjoy your holiday. You can see more photos of the apartment and of the island by going to http://www.geocities.com/fuerteventuraholidayhomes/
In the kitchen there is a washing machine, double ceramic hob, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster, electric kettle, ample crockery and cooking utensils - even an iron and ironing board. The dining table seats four.
The lounge has a sofa bed, television, video with a selection of films and opens on to a terrace. The bathroom has a bath with built in shower and there is a separate toilet.
The bedroom has twin beds, ample wardrobe space and opens on to the rear terrace. There is also a deposit box which is available free (with a returnable key deposit)
The two terraces mean you can catch the sun all day if you do not want to lounge on the sunbeds by the pool.
The nearby horse-shoe shaped beach has lovely golden sand and some of the safest bathing in Europe with gentle waves lapping on to the gently sloping shore.
Strolling along it will take you to the harbour where there is an oceanarim and a catamaran which will take you out to swim with dolphins. Here water sports abound - everything from windsurfing to scuba diving.
In the town centre, you will find shops, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets - everything from fish and steak restaurants and British pub grub to Greek, Chinese, Thai, Portuguese, Mexican, Indian and Spanish tapas bars.
In the evening, entertainment can be found - everything from live groups and acts to karaoke, quizzes and bingo -but there are also plenty of quiet little bars where you can sit outside and watch the world go by.
Local Area Details The up-and-coming resort of Caleta de Fuste is very much a town for couples and families. With a large sandy beach just a few minutes from your doorstep and restaurants and bars just as close, it is perfect for a relaxing holiday.
Less noisy, less bustling and more laid back than its larger, brasher counterparts on the other Canary Islands, Caleta is the place to come for a peaceful holiday.
More like Spain was 25 years ago, the town is clean, the locals friendly and there is a choice of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and pockets – Mexican, Chinese, Thai, Portuguese, Indian, Greek as well as traditional tapas, fish and steak bars.
Caleta is built around a large bay shaped like a horse shoe. There are plenty of shops to browse around, a Championship golf course, ten pin bowling, amusement arcades and several mini-golf courses. You can take a camel ride, go swimming with dolphins, enjoy a luxurious hydro-bubble bath, play tennis or go ten pin bowling.
The main beach is pale golden sand and designed to gently slope into the sea making for some of the safest bathing in Europe. You can go out some considerable distance and still be in water safe enough to stand up in so it is ideal for children.
Around the main beach are numerous beach cafes and bars so refreshments are never far away.
South of the main beach are a number of little sandy lagoon bays. These small bays are dotted with little stone circles to give privacy and have also been designed with families in mind.
These bays stretch all the way to the Atlantico shopping centre on the outskirts of the town where you will find boutiques, restaurants, bars and a large supermarket.
Here there are attractive gardens set around a pleasant lake. If you carry on past this area you will eventually come to the newly opened sea salt museum which gives a fascinating insight into how locals make sea salt (very popular in local dishes).
Walking along the main beach promenade in the opposite direction will bring you to the harbour area. Here, water sports abound. An area has been especially cordoned off for water sports – wind surfing, jet ski and scuba diving can all be arranged from here and you can go snorkelling. If you have never tried wind surfing, a special two hour taster session is available.
A mini train runs from the harbour up Chipmonk Mountain to the Montecastillo Centre where there are more bars and restaurants. You don’t need to go up Chipmonk Mountain to feed the chipmonks though. These almost tame animals live in the rocky part of Caleta’s coastline – take some nuts and they will gently come and eat them out of your hand.
In the evenings there is entertainment – anything from live acts to karaoke, quizzes and even bingo!
. You are welcome to use any of the hotels or large time share complexes which often have good cabaret acts and shows on and a varied entertainment programme at normal drinks prices.
Caleta is also the perfect base for exploring this island. An excellent bus service will take you to the sand dunes of Corralejo in the north or the lagoons and golden beaches of Morro Jable in the south. If you hire a car you can find deserted coves, little fishing villages and even the wreck of an ocean-going liner beached just yards off shore.
Plenty of charter companies and ticket companies offer flights to the island from all main UK airports.
