Totnes is at the head of the South Hams, which has the mildest climate in England. Storms and floods which sometimes hit North and West Devon are tamed as they pass over Dartmoor, and nearby Torbay has one of the highest sunshine records in England. I can't promise that it doesn't ever rain here though!
