Property Details of Aquitane Gite
At 15 kms from St Emilion , it is an XVI Century farmhouse surrounded by flower gardens and vineyards : it is very quiet, only the birds might wake you up in the morning.
There is accommodation for 4 people (max 6 and a baby), with a separate entrance through a private garden, a large living room with a kitchenette including a dishwasher and a microwave), and two bedrooms with private bathrooms (each with a shower and a toilet); each room has two single beds.There is a sofa-bed in the living room, garden furniture, and a barbecue.There is a baby bed, and high chair .
It is charmingly furnished with antiques, floor with old tiles.
At season, you will taste the fruits from the garden : sherries, plums, figs, apples, ...
The house is connected to the owners quarters.
English is spoken (with a strong French accent!)
Local Area DetailsWe are just outside the village of Naujean et Postiac, where most of the people are winemakers.
The hamlet of Chassereau is a group of peaceful old rural houses surrounded by flowers and vineyards. The surrounding villages have roman churches, traditional houses, and medieval marketplaces (Monsegur, Sauveterre de Guyenne,?). There are even some dolmens around ...
Bordeaux, the splendid XVIII century city, is 40 mn drive.
The ocean and Bassin d?Arcachon are 100 km away and make a pleasant daytrip. The famous sites of Perigord are only one hour and half drive from home. In this famous region "Entre deux Mers" , several festivals are organized in the villages or the chateaux: music ( jazz , folk, rock, classic...), traditional handcrafts, gastronomie ,botanics, etc ...
The bicycle path of Entre Deux Mers, which has more than 80 km of trails nested in the countryside, is only 2 km from home; an equestrian centre is 3 km away; the Dordogne river, which is good for fishing, is 4 km away; Blasimon, which has a lake and a playground for children, is 12 km away.
There is a golf at 20 km, and another splendid one at 50kms, near Bergerac (golf des vigiers).
We can provide information on pleasant routes for walking or cycling near the house, and good restaurants with traditional "cuisine du Sud Ouest".
The Dordogne valley is a few miles away, and you are only 1.30 hour from Sarlat and the Perigord sites.
This is a place to rest and enjoy the french way of life in Sud Ouest .
