It is situated on the edge of the conservation village of Freshford on the southern end of the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage dates from the 17th century but has been renovated to exacting standards and is furnished and equipped to a very high level. The original features include a fully beamed ceiling in the sitting room with huge fireplace, now with a woodburner stove. The master bedroom has an Victorian fireplace and the winding staircase has balustrading dating from when the cottage was first built. There a three good sized bedrooms, a full bathroom with shower over the bath and a ground floor lavatory and basin. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, tumble drier and cooker. The cottage has its own south west facing sunny garden and there is plenty of garden chairs, table and barbeque. The cottage is fully WIFI enabled and also has a computer with internet access for guest use.

The historic city of Bath is 5 miles distant to the cottage, easily accessible by car or bus or train. The countryside around the cottage is rolling hills and valleys - very green and rural with the village of Freshford boasting many fine stone homes dating back to the 17th century when the village wealth derived from the wool trade. There are several National Trust properties nearby and the atmospheric sites of Stonehenge and Avebury are under an hour's travel from the cottage. Walking the country lanes and footpaths is quite magical at any time of the year.
