Our cottage 'les champs du Riau' is a stand-alone farmhouse at about one km from our own house. Its construction is typical for this region and dates from around 1800. Most of the furniture and equipment were present in the house when we bought it and have been for a lifetime ... we completed it by adding old regional furniture, and don't worry: we also added some modern comfort! It is equipped for 6 with possibility for one additional person plus a baby - and you may bring your pets, they will have a great time too! The house stands on 3 hectares of land in property, mainly forest, and is surrounded by fields, with the Choeurs et Bommiers natural forest nearby. The cottage is due for classification by les Gîtes de France and their general conditions apply. On the ground floor you will find a spacious living/dining room with a fireplace, the kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet. The two large bedrooms are in the attic. In front of the house is a covered terrace - to get some fresh air, no matter what the weather is like! And there's largely enough space left to enjoy the sun. Les Champs du Riau is situated at four kilometers from the village center (bread, grocer's, bar, tobacconist's, postoffice), fresh eggs and milk can be bought at the neighbour's, or you can go to Lignières, at seven kilometers, to the supermarket. If you prefer, there's a market in Lignières on monday morning, and in St Août every tuesday morning. Considering its location, at one kilometer from our house and the bed and breakfast, you could come over and enjoy the outdoor pool, go fishing or horseback riding.
