Lemon Tree House is a beautifully presented detached house on two floors with a very relaxed atmosphere. Newly refurbished, furnished and decorated to a designer finish with amazing views over the harbour to the sea and mountains. From here you can enjoy Poros and the surrounding islands. The views are fantastic and the house is spacious, well-equipped and comfortable with air conditioning (hot and cold). For the winter months there is an open fire. There are two terraces and small surrounding gardens planted with shrubs and flowering plants. The terrace on the upper level is part covered. All bedrooms and living areas have sea views.


Extensive renovation of the house was implemented in 2006 to provide an exceptionally attractive appeal, with soft pastel shades and white walls in true Greek fashion.


Bedrooms: On the ground level are two twin bedrooms and a living room with two sofabeds. The main bedroom has French doors to an enclosed terrace with panoramic sea views. The first floor has a double bedroom, large living room with sofabed and optional folding bed. The bedrooms are all attractively furnished with modern and traditional furniture and all are newly decorated.

Bathrooms: On the ground level is a spacious bathroom with two basins, bath with shower and two washbasins. The first floor has a smaller bathroom with bath and shower w.c., basin and bidet. Both bathrooms are with high quality sanitary ware and very well presented.

Living areas: On the ground floor the front door leads to a living room with two sofas which can combine as single beds. A secondary kitchen equipped with hob, sink, fridge and worktop/cupboards is approaced through a door off the living room. On the first floor there is a generously proportioned living area with sofas and dining table and occasional furniture in modern and traditional design. In addition to airconditioning, there is a ceiling fan in the living room upstairs. The kitchen is separated by a marble topped breakfast bar and is well equipped including washing machine, oven, hob, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, etc. French doors lead from the living area to a large terrace with truly magnificent views and this makes a very relaxing outdoor living area with deckchairs and tables. The terrace is partly covered.

Out of the main season it is possible to rent the ground or upper floor of Lemon Tree House separately as they have independent entrances. The ground floor apartment sleeps 4-6 people and the upper apartment sleeps 2-4 people.

Local Area Details

GETTING THERE:
Fly to Athens. Take the coach or taxi to the port at Piraeus (approx. half an hour) and from there the frequent Flying Dolphin service by hydrofoil will take you to Poros (1 hour). Alternatively you can take the ferry (2hrs 40mins). Another way is to hire a car at the airport and drive to Galatas (approx. 2.5hours) which is opposite Poros. You can then leave the car at Galatas and take the ferry over to Poros (2mins). We can provide detail of car hire. Once on the island you will probably find very little need for your own transport!

BEACHES
Poros has several good sandy bays with restaurants with easy access by taxi boat, car taxi, bus (which tours the island all day)every 20mins or so, scooter, bike or car hire. Transport is inexpensive and a taxi to the furthest beach is approx. 3Euros (10mins) or 90c by bus!

ISLAND HOPPING
Island hopping by fast or slow ferry from the harbourside will take you to the surrounding Saronic islands of Hydra, Spetses and Aegina or you can go further afield. Athens is one hour away if you crave city life!

WATER SPORTS
There is the opportunity for water sports including skiing, canoing, windsurfing, sailing, banana boat, etc.

This is an enchanting island offering a truly relaxing atmosphere. The mainland at Galatas is 2 minutes across the sea from Poros by taxi boat or you can take the car ferry. From here you can explore mainland Greece. It is also possible to drive from here to Athens (approx. 2.5 hours).
There are many activities on Poros including:
Water sports - skiing, canoing, dinghy sailing,yacht chartering, paragliding, banana boat, jetski. Local shops, supermarkets, restaurants and banks are all within a couple of minutes of the house. There are many archaelogical places of interest to visit. The mainland at Galatas is under two minutes by taxi boat opposite Poros and you can hire a car or scooter to explore the mainland and the island. The beaches are all sandy and have at least one restaurant. Sunbeds and parasols are available for hire. If you prefer a swimming pool there are two available at no charge with sunbeds and parasols.


In Poros Town, Lemon Tree House overlooks the harbour and enjoys unrivalled panoramic sea and mountain views. Just one hour from the port of Athens, Poros offers unspoilt island magic and, whilst here, the holidaymaker has an opportunity to visit the surrounding Saronic islands of Aegina, Hydra, Spetses and beyond. Pretty gardens surround the house with trees and shrubs. Garden furniture and deckchairs are supplied. There is free use of two swimming pools with sunbeds and snack bar facilities within a few minutes by bus or taxi from from Lemon Tree House. From the harbour you can hop on one of the many taxi boats to your chosen beach or a 10-15 minute stroll takes you to the nearest sandy bay. A bus service every 20 minutes tours the island or a taxi is nearly always available.

About Transport
Arriving: Take the shuttle bus or a taxi from the airport to Pireaus (the port of Athens) and from there take a fast(1hr) or slow(2.45hrs) ferry to Poros. You can check the schedules at www.hellenicseaways.gr Once in Poros: You do not need a car in Poros when you stay at Lemon Tree House! All amenities are close at hand, but if you want to explore the mainland opposite Poros or be independent, you can hire a car, quad bike, scooter or bicycle. There are two buses which circle the island all through the day and evening, stopping at the many beaches enroute. Taxi boats from the harbour take you to the mainland at Galatas which is just under 2mins across the water. There are taxis on the harbour if you want to be taken anywhere specifically. The ferry boats visit the nearby Saronic islands of Spetses, Hydra and Aegina or you can take one back to Pireaus, the port of Athens and go to almost any greek island from that point.
About Beaches
There are many beautiful coves around Poros including Canali beach, which is a 15 minute walk from Lemon Tree House. The buses stop at all the beaches and are within 5-15 mins of the harbour. Love Bay, Russian Bay, Monastery beach, Canali beach, Neurion bay, Askeli beach (watersports here). All beaches have tavernas and sunbeds.
About General Entertainment
Plenty going on in Poros. The harbour is littered with a wide choice of very good tavernas, bars, cafes and shops and there are a couple of late night places to dance. This is not a party island but there is something to do for all ages.

About Skiing
Water skiing at Askeli beach and on the mainland there is a superb water skiing centre with expert tuition.
About Airport Information
Athens airport. 35 mins by taxi to Pireaus and 1 hour by fast ferry from the port to Poros. Best to get early morning flight into Athens and you should arrive at Poros by 3pm.
About Local Restaurants
Choice of tavernas is endless and although there are many good ones on the harbour, wander the streets above the harbour to find superb restaurants tucked away in the whitewashed streets of Poros town.

Many areas of culteral interest to be found on Poros and the mainland including Poseidon's temple.

About Ferries
There is a regular service to Poros from Pireaus, the port of Athens. The fast ferry takes one hour and the slow ferry which is also a car ferry takes 2.45 hours and both leave from the harbour at Pireaus. It is possible to book tickets online at www.hellenicseaways.gr Once in Poros you can book your return journey from one of the offices on the harbour.

Lemon Tree House is a detached harbour house and sleeps 10 people in total. You can rent as two individual apartments or as a whole house.
