Local Area Details

The town of Moraira was originally a fishing village. It still has fishing boats but is now enjoyed by many europeans on holiday. It has kept its charm and feeling of a village community. Set in a valley running down to the sea. There are no high rise building as the majority or properties are privately owned villas. There are two beaches. One is in the town and the other one is at El Portet which a short drive from the town centre. It is also possible to walk to El Portet. In the other direction from the villa is the town of Calpe which has long sandy beaches, many shops and restaurants marina and a thriving night life. Many good restaurants and bars. Prices vary according to the estalishment. 8 michelin guide rated and 3 michelin star retaurants in the area. A couple of night clubs. Childrens fair. Marina. Many supermarkets, banks and two internet shops. Nice gift, clothes and shoe shops. The area is idea for families as the town is quite small, very clean and the Spainish are very friendly. In Benidorm there is the Terra Mitica theme park, Aqualandia Water Park and Mundomar Sealife Park. Benidorm Palace is worth a visit for an enjoyable night out. Train station in Teulada. The local wine from the Jalon Valley is an absolute must. Local activities: Water sports, Hiking/walking, Fishing, Golf, Swimming, Cycling, Mountain biking, Horse riding, Wine/beer/food tasting, Flora and fauna Activity details: The nearest nine hole golf course is approx 7 minutes away. 8 other courses within an hours drive from the villa. About Beaches

Morair has two beaches. One in the town and El Portet. Both idea for families with small children and both have beach bars.

About Transport

A car is necessary as taxi's are good coming back from town but not so good going into town. No buses. Taxi's from the airport cost approx 80-90 euros each way so car hire works out much cheaper in the long run.

About Nightlife

Night life in Morair and Javea is geared towards families. Teo night clubs in Moraira and one in Javea. Calpe and Beniform have a very lively night life.

About Weather/Climate/Temperature

The weather from May to September can be more or less guranteed but from October to April it can be changeable. Although warmer and sunnier than the UK in winter it should be remeber that it is also winter in Spain and can be cold especially in the winter evenings.
