Property Details of New York Cottage

The Islands name is Grant Island. It is almost 2 acres with your own
private lake front area. There are 2 cottages on the island and we only rent one as we live in the one on the other side. We rent
on a weekly basis. But we are more than willing to rent it for
extended periods while giving you a better deal on the rent. The
cottage on the Island is a large 4 bedroom. It will accommodate up to
8 people. Brantingham Lake is a small private lake with about
a 10 miles circumference. The camp has all amenities of home
plus...BBQ Grill, microwave, stove, picnic table, DVD/VCR, CD stereo
surround sound system home theater, DSL Internet Cafe, Premium
cable TV, Fireplace, screened in porch. Your
more than welcome to bring your own boats and/or Jetskis. We will be
renting a jetski and pontoon boat this summer if your interested.
There's canoes and rowboats that your free to use and you are given a 10 horsepower motor boat for transportation. There is a small
basketball court on the island as well.
The Island is really an exciting place for our pet owners as dogs
and cats are free to roam the island play in the water and run in the
woods. You never have to worry about them running away. There is a
floating raft to swim out to and lay in the sun; Cot's to lay in, be
lazy and relax in the shade and accent lighting along the stairs from
the cottage to the lake so you can walk down and sit along the shore
to watch the moon glisten on the water. There is great fishing
too. Large mouth Bass, Pickerel, Bullhead, Whitefish and much
more. I caught a 12 lb'er last summer right off the dock. The
best fishing is right off the island. Don't even have to go out in
a boat. We give you a small rowboat style boat with a 10 horsepower
engine attached so that you have the freedom to come and go from the
Island as you please. We have a dock on the mainland where you park
the boat and can walk about 60 ft to where your car is parked.

Local Area Details

There are a ton of other summer activities in the area which make the
area an amazing vacation place. There is one of the last remaining original DRIVE INN MOVIE THEATERS just an 5
minute drive away. It plays all the latest movies that have just come
out. And you can listen to it on your car stereo. It's Amazing 2
movies for $4.50 a person. There are thousands of miles of
Bike and ATV trails so if you like riding you can bring your 4
wheelers or mountain bikes. In the winter time people come to the
area just for the snowmobiling there's so many trails. There are 5 or
6 great restaurants to eat at and plenty of busy bars to go to at
night which on weekends have live bands. If you like
golfing two miles down the road from where you will be parked is the
18 hole Brantingham Golf Course. There's also mini golf and some
tennis courts at the Brantingham Inn Hotel less than a mile
away.

About Walking

We have direct access from our field and garden to open countryside and a network of footpaths. The Calderdale Way long distance path is within 800m of the cottage. As we are keen walkers and cyclists ourseleves, we can offer advice on local routes. There is a selection of local maps and guidebooks in the cottage.

About Local Restaurants

There are many local pubs serving good food, some within walking distance. We can also recommend a select number of restaurants within 15 minutes of the cottage with excellent chef, offering a memorable evening out or for a special occasion.

About Airport Information

We are located about one hour by motorway from Manchester International Airport. There is a direct rail link to Huddersfield, which is fifteen minutes from the cottage. We offer to meet visitors from the train.

About Children Activities

We have two acres of wild woodland/heather garden. Children will find the whole garden adventurous with rope swing and rocks to climb. The Eureka Children's Museum in Halifax is 15 minutes from the cottage.
