Quinta dos Pinheiros has 25 acres of its own land in an area of great natural beauty within the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, 5 miles to the west of Tavira, with unrestricted views out to sea. The area teems with birdlife. There are two villas on the "quinta", the Blue and Yellow villas.

Both are situated amid pine-trees, quite separate from each other and have their own pools. In front of the villas, the land runs down for about 150 yards to a tidal sea lagoon 100 yards wide where local fishermen harvest shellfish etc. and moor their colourful boats. They are well furnished and equipped. A housekeeper calls daily.

On the other side of the lagoon is a five-mile long sandy beach, European Blue Flag standard. Although not part of a conventional development QdP is within 10 minutes driving time of shopping facilities and restaurants and is 45 minutes from Faro Airport. The quinta is an ideal location for a peaceful family holiday.

Local Area Details

The nearest village, Luz de Tavira, (where all the basic shopping can be done) and which has a small market for fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and meat, is a mile away and the nearest market town  Tavira, seen below  with supermarkets and a traditional vegetable, fruit and fish market, is 5 miles away.

There is a local restaurant within walking distance -?Fialho?, owned by the local fisherman - and others within easy reach at Santa Luzia, Tavira, Fuseta or Olhao. QdP is situated between Fuseta and Tavira, a 45 minute drive to the East of Faro Airport. It is within easy reach of the Spanish border via the new bridge over the Guadiana.

Golf and tennis are available nearby. The course at Castro Marim is a 35 minute drive from QdP. Benamor is on the outskirts of Tavira, 15 minutes away. Both may be viewed in more detail at www.premier-direct.com. They are well designed and maintained and much quieter than the better known courses to the West of Faro.

Tennis courts are available at Pedras del Rei (15 mins eastwards), Olhao (20 minutes westwards) and the Eurotel at Tavira. A tennis professional is available for lessons at reasonable rates in the Olhao tennis club.
