Property Details of Bahamas Cottage
Thank you very much for your interest in this lovely two bedroom cottage nestled in dense plantings and palms right on the beach on Harbour Island. This gorgeous beach is world famous for its pink sand. The cottage can be rented separately from the main house or with it, but the foliage and over 30 palm trees insures complete privacy between the two. The first floor of the cottage has Mexican tile which extends out to include the covered outdoor terrace which has ceiling fans and comfortable seating. Inside, the living room has palladium windows and a cathedral ceiling. Adjacent to the living room, is the kitchen and bath. The second story includes two twin bed bedrooms (which can both be made into kings). One of these bedrooms has a large vented skylight for additional light and star gazing. French doors open to the upstairs terrace which has a spectacular view of the ocean. An outside gas grill is provided. There is maid service six days a week (never on Sundays or Holidays). The cottage has satellite TV and there is a large air conditioner on the ground floor, as well as the upstairs. There is one bathroom upstairs and one down.
Local Area DetailsHarbour Island is located just north of the large island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. On the island is the village of Dunmore Town, which was founded by British settlers in the 1700s. Most of the homes built during that time still remain and several have become inns with small bars and restaurants that feature patios and porches for outdoor eating and socializing. The island is often described as the "Nantucket" of the Bahamas and the beach outside our door as one of the ten best in the world.
Winters are balmy with an average high temperature in the 80s. Evenings are delightful and you might want to bring a sweater. Summer days and nights are often cooled by soft trade winds. During the day, the ocean provides a never ending panorama of changing light and color. At night, looking for shooting stars or stargazing can provide an evening of inexpensive pleasure. The stars look close enough to touch.
Since the island is only 3 1/2 miles long and 1/2 mile wide your island transportation is by walking, bikes, or by golf cart. For golf cart rentals call Ross Garage (242-333-2122) which is about a 5 minute walk from the house. Also if you would like groceries delivered for the day you arrive, call Piggly Wiggly (242-333-2120). They are open on Sundays between 8:00AM - 10:00AM.

There will be a rental agreement for the renter to sign as well as a $200 damage deposit which will be returned after the rental provided no damage was done other than normal wear and tear. Final payment due 45 days prior to arrival, check payable to C.B. Rentals. Cancellation policy: Your funds are refundable provided cottage can be re-rented in the event of your cancellation.
