Chandalar Ranch is located on a hill outside Fairbanks next to the Two Rivers Recreation area. It is an excellant location for veiwing the Aurora Borealis in winter, as well as ice fishing,dog mushing, cross country sking and other specialty tours. In summer horseback riding, canoeing, fishing and hiking are the main activities. The Ranch is owned and operated by Keith and Velma Koontz. Velma is a Siberian Yupik Eskimo from Saint Lawerence Island. She is an excellent skin sewer and usually has handicraft for sale. Local Area Details

The two Rivers cross country sky area is next door. The Two Rivers Lodge (a 4-star restraunt) is also near by. It is 8 miles from the Chena River State Recreation Area. Fairbanks, 25 miles away, has many visitor attractions (University of Alaska Museum, River Boat Dicouvery,etc).
