Akademie Street Guesthouses are an easy walk to the restaurants and attractions in the village of Franschhoek. Breakfasts are served under a vine-covered patio or in the Cape Dutch home called Twyfeling . Oortuiging is our 1860?s luxury cottage. It has two en-suite bedrooms, a lounge, a kitchen and a dining room. It has its own pool and private garden. Oortuiging can sleep three but takes two in spacious luxury. Gelatenheid is our largest (220 square metre) and most luxurious guesthouse - a double storey just for two. The en-suite loft bedroom with king size bed, dressing and living room area opens onto an upstairs verandah with special views over the mountains and vineyards. There is a romantic bath under the trees with a heated towel rail. Downstairs are a kitchen and a dining area overlooking a large pool and private garden. Vreugde sleeps two in twin three-quarter beds or on prior request a king size bed. The bath and shower are separate, there is a small kitchenette and French doors open onto a wide veranda with beautiful garden and private pool. One can lounge on the leather sofa on the porch listening to the birds and the singing of the fountain. This is a very intimate private place.
