The large pond is a haven for wildlife, including newts, frogs, toads and dragonflies etc, The shy roe deer graze the surrounding fields and buzzards are often seen circling above, woodpeckers and nuthatches visit the bird feeders plus many more birds. A private patio around part of the pond has just been built.

Hemyock is set amidst the Culm valley on the Blackdown Hills which is now an A.N.O.B. and an ideal base to visit the North and South Coasts plus the Quantocks and the National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor with several National Trust properties in the area and Hemyock even boasts it's own castle or ruins!!
