It is beautifully restored, retaining original features such as terracotta floor tiles and exposed beams, and is constructed over a vaulted medieval cellar. The upper windows look out over the village walls and across the countryside to the Dentelles de Montmirail. The walled garden has stone steps leading up to a sunny terrace built over what used to be the village dungeon. Garden furniture and BBQ are provided.
The house is tastefully decorated and has a fitted kitchen, a dining room, two sitting rooms, a double and a twin bedroom, and two bathrooms, one of which is 'en suite' in the double bedroom. There is a TV, VCR and CD player.
The village has the usual shops: general store, butcher, bakers, cafe/bars, garage, post office, hairdresser, etc; and is a short drive from the towns of Carpentras and Pernes Les Fontaines.
Local Area DetailsThe historic city Avignon is 20 minutes drive away. Also Nimes, Vaison and Aix are within easy reach. The local villages abound with fairs and fetes during the summer months, and there is plenty do. It's a wonderful area for walking, cycling or eating in the numerous excellent restaurants in the locality. Tennis is available in the village, there is an excellent golf course nearby and a lake for swimming.
