The Chalet at Mount Shasta United States

Prices from $135 per Night
Nestled among the pines with views of magnificent Mount Shasta, this charming, modern chalet lets you relax and reflect on the serenity of the area while enjoying the comforts of home. Romantic luxury for TWO... Yet spacious enough to sleep a large family. We, Jack and Terri, live in the Bay Area but go to Mount Shasta so often that we decided to buy the Chalet in 1999 for our own use and for guests. The Chalet is located three and a half miles from central Mount Shasta City, just north of the city limits in a quiet residential neighborhood, recessed from the street. The area behind The Chalet is undeveloped land (just pine trees!) and there is plenty of distance (and more trees!) between the neighbors. It is very peaceful and private. There is a wonderful view of the mountain from the deck, the dining area, and the upstairs loft area. You will find an outdoor table (with chairs and umbrella) on the deck during the warm weather months as well as an outdoor barbecue grill. And sleds in winter! The large master bedroom suite (upstairs) has a queen bed, queen sofa bed, walk-in closet, and full bath (with bathtub/shower). The loft outside the bedroom looks over the living area and offers a great reading spot, and is also perfect for viewing Mt. Shasta. The downstairs bedroom (queen bed) is on the main level with the living area and is nicely situated down a hallway allowing an escape to privacy. There is and another full bath (walk-in shower) near the bedroom. If needed, the full size sofa in the living room can also be used for sleeping. We are proud of our growing number of repeat guests, and we hope you enjoy The Chalet as much as we do. We are also dog-lovers, so you can bring ALL members of the family! The Chalet at Mount Shasta has an official Vacation Rental Permit granted by Siskiyou County. Amenities: See-through wood burning stove (wood provided), TV/DVD, stereo/CD player, telephone answering machine, full kitchen (refrigerator, cooking utensils, toaster oven, microwave, blender, coffee maker, dishwasher), washer/dryer, linens, BBQ, front deck with deck furniture and mountain view, hammock, 2 queen beds, 2 queen sleeper sofas, air-conditioning, dog-friendly, no smoking Jack (San Francisco Bay Area) Owner of The Chalet at Mount Shasta 925-377-5433 e-mail: mtchalet@mindspring.com web site: http://home.mindspring.com/~mosscomm --------------------------------------------------- Here are some unsolicited comments from some guests: March 2004) We cannot thank you enough for the great weekend we had at Mt Shasta and staying at The Chalet. The Chalet itself was great! It was "stocked" in a way that made it a welcome place to return to after a day in the snow. The accessibility of the house, including many "extras" in the chalet, were all so much appreciated! (washer/dryer, clean sheets, kindling and good firewood, sleds and a fully "stocked" kitchen for cooking . . . even the dog things--dishes, towels, cookies) Importantly, the house was very clean and welcoming. We were able to heat with wood even though our daughter has pretty significant asthma since the stove was well-insulated and there was not any ash/dust in the house. ?.The information you made available about Shasta and nearby areas was also so invaluable. We went to many of the places you suggested and avoided some of the "not-so-kid-friendly" places as well?Once again, the care you took to offer the "little" things was huge to us, making our visit to Shasta perfect! Thank you so very much! ----------------------------------- (Feb. 2004) Everything was great! Really appreciated that the driveway was plowed. Everything was very comfortable, cozy, and convenient. Great wood supply, cozy flannel sheets, handy snow shovels. Very nice to have toboggans available. The layout was very comfortable for 2 families. Wood stove kept the Chalet toasty warm. The outdoor back area was very fun for snow play for kids. It was very friendly and kind of 'the owners' to email and make such a personal effort to share information about activities, links, etc. -- that made a huge difference!!! Thank you! ----------------- We stayed at another vacation rental since The Chalet was booked. It was fine and served the purpose. We must say that we still like the Chalet better. Your place is better maintained. We were more inclined to get out and about from the other house. At the Chalet we found that we had to force ourselves to get out because we were so comfortable. ----------------------------------- Yes, our trip and stay in your lovely chalet exceeded our wildest hopes. So cozy and comfortable, warm and homey. I know you said you had everything there, but based on past experiences, "Just in case," we took a lot of stuff we happily found out we didn't need. The chalet was immaculate. And everything is so perfect in the chalet. Even tissues in every room. Your thoughtfulness is apparent in every room, in every small detail. -------------------------------------------------- I would like to thank you and your family for sharing your house in the way that you do. We had a wonderful time there and the house was just great. All the furniture was very comfortable and that was important to our middle aged backs. I decided against a lot of houses that were furnished with futons for that reason. It was great to have two recliners to sit it. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we would need and the house was clean and neat. Can't express to you enough how much we enjoyed it. We hope to do the same thing next year, but perhaps for a longer period. Thanks again --------------------------- We had a wonderful and peaceful stay at your lovely mountain home! All The suggestions you gave us for swimming spots, hikes and restaurants were perfect! What I enjoyed most was sitting on the deck in the evening reading my book.. We are most interested in returning for winter sports. Thanks for all your hospitality! ---------------- We had a lovely time and truly enjoyed our visit to The Chalet. It was cozy and comfortable and felt like home the first day. Your guest book was very helpful and informative. All in all, we had a great time. As vacations go, this one ranks right up there. Plenty of fresh air, beautiful scenery, and a good nights' sleep each night. What more could you ask for? Thanks again for everything. We will certainly offer you up as referrals to friends coming up that way.
