A superb self-catering vacation house free standing in lovely rural area with view of sea and hills. Close to swimming area, fishing port, beach and restaurants.
Top floor contains a living area and open, very well equipped kitchen; double bedroom and bathroom en suite, a woodstove and the ocean viewing terrace.
Groundlevel has a master bed-and bathroom with shower and large bath, a sitting area with sofa/pull out bed (1 person or child). French sliding doors open into the garden. Separate laundry room with washer/dryer/iron. The house is large, many windows make it very light and airy,comfortable and luxurious. The view is fabulous!
Linens, towels and dishtowels are provided. Electric, gas and water included in the price. Other amenities: hairdryer, BBQ in garden.
English speaking babysitter and/or cleaning lady available.
Owner speaks: English, Dutch, German, French, Portuguese.
There is always a welcoming package of coffee, tea, sugar, wine, crackers and cheese, local jam, bread and eggs.

Local Area Details

Situated at the extreme western end of the island, remote and quiet. Town is 25 minutes away by car. There is a local shop for provisions and there are 5 restaurants in the neighbourhood. Although the surroundings are optimal for people liking to hike, swim, fish, snorkel and nature-lovers, the island is small enough to quickly drive to town for a movie or a shopping spree. The walking trails start right at your doorstep and birds and flowers are in abundance. Whale watching can be reserved in advance, the sightings of whales and dolphins are guaranteed during the summer season. You may even see them right from your terrace! June, July and August are the months when the famous Blue Hydrangeas are in bloom and the fields hedges are spectacular with their unique blue colours. Less mentioned but just as spectacular are the flowers of the wild ginger, a spidery light yellow candle with red points emanating a delicate perfume.
Mint, belladona, honeysuckle, lemongrass, the flowers and herbs are far to many to mention here; they all grow in or around the garden of the Volcano House.
