Grantown-on-Spey, the capital of Strathspey, is a quiet market town with a wide variety of quality shops and eating facilities both in the town and surrounding area. The River Spey, famed for it's salmon fishing, is 5 minutes walk from the town centre and there are numerous easy walking routes along the river, through the woods surrounding the town and across open moor land. The High Street tourist office provides information on the wide range of attractions in the area.

The famous Whisky Trail with its many distilleries open to the public, all within easy driving distance. Fishing, golf, hill walking, cycling, Pony trekking, water sports, bird watching, off-road driving are some of the many attractions available throughout the year.
