Celias cottage is located on the antrim coast road at Carnlough in the glens of antrim, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The cottage is about 500m from shops, pubs and churches and about 75m from a safe sandy beach. It is about 35 minute drive to belfast international airport, 25 minutes to Larne ferry port and about 45 minutes to Belfast. The location is ideal for exploring the rest of N Ireland.
Carnlough is in the second of the 9 glens of antrim (glencloy) as you travel north. The area is a patch work quilt of glens, rivers, small fields and villages. Carnlough itself has 4 pubs, 3 general shops, restaurant, 2 chip shops, excellent chinese take away, hairdressers, post office, butchers and amusement arcade. There is a very pretty harbour and two unusual limestone arches all of which were built in the mid 1800s to facilitate the export of limestone from the quarries behind the village. The quarries, now disused are wildlife havens and together with the nearby waterfalls make for a very pleasant walk.
