Cottage in England, United Kingdom

Property Details of England Cottage

Wickham Lodge is a beautifully restored house offering every modern comfort situated on the riverbank in Aylesford, one of the oldest and most picturesque villages in Kent. Cherith and Richard provide a warm and hospitable welcome for their guests.
Recently the Georgian Carriage House and Stable have been completely renovated to provide self-catering accommodation beside the house in the beautiful gardens. In the centrally heated Stable Cottage there is accommodation sleeping two people - downstairs there is a large double bedroom, ensuite bathroom, separate shower room and fully fitted kitchen/dining room. Attached to the cottage there is a covered Pergola with grapevine and passionflower. This provides an eating out area in the summer months.

Upstairs there is a comfortably furnished sitting room with a futon. Great care has been taken with the fitments and furniture in the cottage to give people the opportunity to enjoy an extremely comfortable visit.

In mid and high seasons, weekly bookings run from Saturday to Saturday. Short breaks are available (minimum 3 nights).

Well-behaved dogs, with responsible owners, are welcome @ £3 per night per dog - not allowed in the bedroom. There is a non-smoking policy throughout the property.
Accommodation:

Downstairs there is a bedroom which has a king-size bed, TV and video together with en-suite bathroom. An independent shower room with toilet and wash basin. A well-equipped kitchen with a dining area. Upstairs there is a sitting room with quality fittings like the rest of the cottage. There are co-ordinating furniture and soft furnishings throughout.

Services included:

The bed will be made up before arrival (duvet), and linen and bath towels, central heating providing hot water, gas cooker, microwave, electricity, satellite TV and video, radio/CD player, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing/dryer machine are provided.

There will be a complimentary 'Welcome Tea' of home-made bread, butter and home-made jam. Tea and coffee are also provided and there will be a pint of milk in the fridge. Please let us know if you have a preference for white or brown bread.
Stable Cottage has views at the front towards the River Medway (which is tidal) and Aylesford Bridge.

The front garden is laid to lawn down to the river bank with Vineyard parking.

The bedroom looks out onto the Tudor Topiary garden
The house and stables nestle under Aylesford Parish Church which is floodlit at night - part of the view can be seen from the cottage.

The rest of the Walled Garden at the rear of the house is divided into smaller areas with different types of planting providing interest all the year round. There is also lighting around the garden in the evening.

There will be someone on hand daily to give help and advice so that you have an enjoyable and relaxing holiday.

Any information you require on where to eat, what to visit etc will be readily given and is available in the cottage.
