Finca Higueron is situated on the edge of the small village of La Muela, 8 kms from Vejer de la Frontera and 6km from the beach at Conil
From October to June the local countryside is a mass of green and is rich with crops, whereas other months, when there is little or no rain, the fields become brown, but, the large forest areas prevents the area from looking barren.
La Muela is 60 km north of Gibraltar, just off the main A340 trunk road that links Malaga to Cadiz; 30km to the north.
The six-acre finca is on top of a hill, 190 meters above sea level, which is approached by a meandering road that winds up the slow incline of the hill. Once on the ridge, you are rewarded with spectacular views to the east, south and west.
The cottage has its own private patio, with garden furniture, barbeque and a personal mini pool, with integral seating (2 meters by 2 meters by 0.75 meters deep), which can be used from April to October.
There is also a large concealed central patio, with a meandering path through a tropical garden.
The cottage is in the center of the property; on the east side there is a large orchard with mature olives, figs and almonds; to the south shrubs break up a hilltop view of Africa, 70km away; to the west there is the vegetable garden edged with citrus fruit trees and a view to the Atlantic ocean five kilometers away; to the north is the main house and two entrances to the finca, one solely for guests.
All the grounds, excluding the vegetable garden, are available to visitors.

Due to its location the property is superb for birdwatching

The finca is under migration path of many birds that travel from southern Spain to Africa. Watching the Storks and Bee Eaters flying over is wonderful, but the Eagles, Hawks and Vultures that glide, hover and swoop overhead on a regular basis are nothing less than spectacular. In the unspoilt common land that surrounds the finca, there is a large variety of birdlife all year round.

Local Area Details

For lovers of clean, unspoilt beaches, which even in the height of the season are not very busy, the Costa de la Luz spans from Tarifa to Portugal with golden sandy beaches, hidden coves and small towns with bars, restaurants. Ten minutes drive away, the nearest beach, to the finca, fronts the lively resort of Conil, the golden sandy beach is wide, clean and safe and is a two minute walk from the towns shops and restaurants. Fifteen minutes away is the long El Palma beach.
