Property Details of Brittany Cottage

Le Pommier is a large stone cottage which has also been very recently(Summer 2002) renovated by local artisans to retain all of the charm of its 150yr heritage(granite window frames, original beams etc). It has 3 double bedrooms, a bathroom with bath/shower facility, WC and washbasin and an additional toilet downstairs. It sleeps 6 people comfortably.

In the cottage itself there is, downstairs, the lounge/dining area with beamed ceiling and featuring the magnificent original granite fireplace. It is well furnished and equipped with very comfortable sofas and easy chairs, stereo system, TV(English and French), open fireplace and electric radiators.

The kitchen area has been very well designed to include a full-size oven, fridge/freezer, dish-washer and washing machine. The kitchen is well supplied with a full range of cooking pots and utensils(incl. Le Creuset pans..).

On the first floor, which has carpeted floors throughout, there are 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 with double beds and the third with twin beds.
There is also a bathroom with bath/shower facility, WC and washbasin.

In all the bedrooms there is plenty of storage space for your things.
Duvets are provided for all beds.

All rooms have convector radiators installed just in case there's a chill in the air.........

Outside there is a patio area and a small enclosed garden, mainly laid to lawn, but with a few flower beds scattered here and there. There is also a small herb garden area with most of the well-known herbs in it for your use.

We also provide enough garden furniture for your use and of course, a couple of barbeques.
Off road parking is provided.

Local Area Details

Le Pommier is situated in the peaceful hamlet of Le Val St Revert which is about 1Km from Roz sur Couesnon, 6Kms from Pontorson, 12Kms from Dol de Bretagne and about 12Kms on the main road from Le Mont St Michel(it's much shorter across the polders, but we keep getting lost so it isn't always quicker............!!). The ferry ports are also very convenient. St Malo is about 30mins away, Caen/Cherbourg about 2hrs on the new Voie rapide(dual carriageway). Even the airport at Dinard(Pleurtuit) only takes about 1/2hr to drive.
The Channel Tunnel is about 5hrs drive away.

In Roz you'll find a baker, a bar, a small general store(for those things you forgot or need in an emergency) and a very good butcher. There is also a small post office and a hairdresser, just in case you have a bad hair day on holiday..............

The nearest supermarkets are in Pontorson(Champion and Intermarch驠and in the school holidays in the summer they open on Sunday mornings. In addition, there are very good markets in Pontorson(Wednesday) and in Dol(Saturday) where you can buy everything from fruit/veg, meat, fresh seafood, material and bric-ୢrac and even live chickens(although I wouldn't necessarily recommend one of these for Sunday lunch........). And you can always have a break at one of the Cr谥s stalls for a delicious cr谥 au chocolat or galette saucisse.............
