Le Moulin de Malineau is situated in the south of the Charente-Maritime within easy reach of all major attractions. We have 2 exceptional 3 bedroomed Gites (Monet and Matisse) with full facilities each accommodating 8 people. Located in stunning Cognac countryside surrounded by Sunflowers and Vinyards.

Within the 4 acres of tranquil landscaped gardens, including peach, cherry,apple, fig trees and many established shrubs, there is a large pond/lake stocked with Mirror Carp. Fishing rods available. Ideal for the professional or beginner alike.

There is a small river frequented by the local kingfisher that often feeds from the lake. If you are quiet and lucky enough you can enjoy its beauty as we do. The grounds have ample space for picnics and seclusion to help you get back to nature and listen to the wonderful sound of nature at its best.

There is an enclosed 10x5m pool,that is cleaned and maintained daily for your comfort and safety. In addition there is a children's play area that includes swings, slide and sand pit. (A separate frog sand pit and Wendy house for the younger guests.)We also have Table Tennis, small Bicycles and even a 9 hole putt and putt (not to be taken seriously but the course record is 22).

This year we have introduced Art Workshops for children (Keystages 1-4) based on the theme “Inspired By Nature”, to keep them stimulated and occupied in a safe environment whilst you enjoy time out.

The workshops are run by a qualified art and drama teacher who has the enthusiasm and skill to get the best out of each child in an enjoyable way. (see our website for more detail.)

Each Gite has an open plan Lounge/Diner/Kitchen with shower room and WC downstairs.
Matisse has a bedroom on the ground floor and has more flexibile accommodation for lower numbers of people.
The lounge areas contain a TV/sat/DVD along with a sofa bed (Clic Clac) and other seating.
The well equipped Kitchen areas contain Oven, Microwave, 50/50 fridge freezer and Dishwasher and washing machine.
Both Gites have patios for outside dining overlooking the lake and gardens and Matisse has a Verandah overlooking the pool.
All bed linen and Tea Towels provided. Towels can be provided if you are flying though.

We live on site and will do everything we can to make your stay enjoyable. Because we have children ourselves we understand you may have special requirements such as baby baths, high chairs, push chairs, toys etc and will endeavour to meet all requirements that we know we would want if we were away from home.

For those of you that still need to live in the real world we can offer WI-FI internet access to pick up those all important e-mails or to work whilst lounging by the pool.

We can offer French Language Courses on site,arrange Bike hire, We can even arrange Wine and Pineau tasting at the local vineyards, where you can taste and buy.

What more could you want in this totally relaxing environment, and I haven't even mentioned the Buzzards, Sparrowhawks, Hen Harriers, Barn and Tawny Owls, Bats, Golden Orioles, Nightingales, Lizards.

There are a variety of attractions nearby catering for a broad range of tastes. Historic towns of Bordeaux,Cognac, Angouleme, StEmilion within an easy drive. Atmospheric night-time French markets in the local nearby towns (summer). Historic chateaux and churches. Beaches within an hour,fabulous Zoo at La Palmyere.
