Property Details of Costa Blanca Apartment

The two bedroom apartment is a downstairs property in a block of 52 similar properties which has a large living/dining area with satellite TV DVD/CD player radio/CD player. In the kitchen there is a washer, fridge-freezer, oven & hob, microwave, iron & ironing board. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it, toilet, sink & bidet. The Electricity is run by a 2 euro coin meter.
There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. There is also a sofa bed in the lounge. The property will sleep six.
There is a large patio at the front with the usual patio furniture, and a smaller patio at the back where there is washing line to dry your washing.
There is a the very large municiple pool which is open July to September.

Local Area Details

The apartment is in Los Palacios, Formentera Del Segura which is on the outskirts of Rojales which is a typical Spanish town. There are a variety of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and pubs including an English one called Tylers with a lovely restaurant at the rear.There is a very pretty church, a local museum and a lovely village square where you can sit & watch the world go by.
The river Segura runs through the centre of Rojales, this a lovely place to while away a few hours in the evening and where many of the locals spend their spare time with the family.
There is a road of very lively discos in Rojales close by, but these are mainly frequented by the Spanish and only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings as this is a working town and not a tourist town.
The town comes alive on Thursday mornings with the market being held beside the river in the town centre. People come from far and wide to get their fresh vegetables and the many bargains that are to be had there. The leather goods are well recommended. Rojales is ideally situated for the major golf courses, the new one being La Finca in Algorfa. this is about ten minutes drive away.
Benimar is only about a 10/15 minute walk away from the apartment this is where the local ex pats spend their time enjoying the many bars & restaurants and the climate of Spain while still speaking English.
Rojales is only about 10 minutes drive from Torrevieja which is a lively tourist town, if you want an energetic day or night out. There is also a water park approximately 5 minutes away. If you want to be livelier still Benidorm is approximately 1 and a half hours away.
The apartment is about 10 minutes to Guardamar a lively, but not too tourist orientated town, where there is miles of fantastic beach with a blue flag for safety & cleanliness. There is also a marina in Guadamar and if you fancy some fresh air to your body there is also a large nudist beach. Guadamar is one of the preferred places that the Spanish, living inland, visit for their summer holidays.
If you want a lively holiday, Los Palacios is not for you.
If you want a taste of typical Spanish life or somewhere as a base to see the real Spain, or somewhere near numerous golf courses, then this is the place for you.

About Driving

It is advisable to hire a car to explore the area fully but if you are content to sit in the sun all day and go clubbing at weekends or in the local bars then you can manage without one. If you do want to hire a car we can do thatr for you if you wish and you can collect it from either Alicante or Murcia airport.

About Parks

The area around the salt lakes in Torrevieja has been declaired a natural park and you can see flocks of flamingos here. Guadamar has a beautiful pine forest where there are tables and chairs to sit and enjoy your lunch after having enjoyed a walk either in the forest or along the beach which is only minutes away.

About Sailing

You can hire boats or arrange chartered trips in Guadamar marina or Torrevieja port. Guadamar is about 10 minutes away and Torrevieja is about 15 ninutes away.

About Airport Information

Alicante is approx. 30 minutes away from the area and Murcia is approx. 25 minutes If hiring a car we can help you do this and you can collect from either airport or we can collect you from the airport.

About Golfing

Golf on the Costa Blanca is big business which is taken very seriously. The closest Championship golf course to the apartment is La Finca this is the newest course set at the foot of Mount Escotera in beautiful orange groves, an 18 hole course that has a variety of greens ranging from large to very small.There are lakes and reed beds with wild water birds and the centre of the course has olive and palm trees which all adds up to a varied course. Villamartin is in between Alicante and Cartagena and is another 18 hole par 72 course. It is of medium difficulty and has excellent greens and very scenic fairways.Las Ramblas is sometimes called Villamartin 2 but it is a different course to play againa 18 hole par 72 course but precision is needed here because the greens are very narrow and there are lots of ravines.Campoamor another 18 hole par 72 course again in between Alicante and Cartagena this is the course for you if you enjoy long and wide greens and fairways the course for the big hitters set amid orange groves with lovely scenery.

About Beaches

The beach at Guadamar are about a 10 minute drive away and are superb with lifeguards on duty all day and late into the evening.There is also a large nudist beach here if you want an all over tan. Torrevieja has good beaches and small coves to explore.There are numerous smaller beaches close to Rojales all within 15 minutes drive.

About Nightlife

There is a whole street of discos in rojales which cater for every need. If you want to dance all night this is the place for you, they stay open till the early hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Occasionally you get live bands in one of the discos.

About Weather/Climate/Temperature

Rojales is 15 minutes from Torrevieja which is reputed to have one of the finest climates on the Costa Blanca.

About Bars

There are lots of Spanish bars in Rojales also one English one that has a new restaurant facility and one Irish one where you can sit outside day or evening and watch the local people enjoying the park with their family
