Megalo Mourtia has also a nice beach with taveernas that line the waters edge and is one of the best place for sea food on the island. the Island of Alonissos is one of the three islands hillsides and covered in pine forests and olives groves. Opposite the east coast of Alonissos is the island of Peristera. A shorttrip by small boat to the North is the island of Kira Panagia with the Monastery. Gioura and Piperi which form the Northern Sporades is the National Marine Park ,this was founded in 1992 for the protection of the monk seal. If you are lucky, dolphins will accompany you on your trip.
