Local Area Details

Peaceful surroundings with easy access to many local and further afield attractions. To the West a forty minute drive takes you to either to Avranches which overlooks Mont St Michel - famed and justfiably so - or Granville and its stretch of sandy coastline. To the North an hour takes you to Bayeux also the war time landing beaches (2004 is the 60th anniversary). To the West an hour and fifteen minutes takes you to San Malo and Brittany, South the Loire 2.5 hours and 20 mins to lovely market towns of St Hilaire and St James with spectacular lakes and boating. 15 mins to Mortain and a little further to Domfront - both of major historical interest.

To the East, the Suisse Normande with its forests and distinctive towns. Locally within easy reach, are an 18 hole golf course 8km towards Vire with a pleasant restaurant and a boating lake. The forest of St Sever with extensive walks is 8km. Many new leisure pools in the area including Vire, Brecey, Villedieu - a very pretty and popular town, 20 mins drive to the west. Mortain is 10km with some impressive waterfalls. and a pool perched on a cliff overlooking a green valley

Try karting at Neufborg (near Mortain) horse riding at Brouains and even bungee jumping in the Gorge de Vire, not forgetting the Enchanted Village for small children. This is also walking and cycling country, the Tour de France passed through the area recently. Some of the attractions and activities are seasonal, it is worth checking availability with us if they are important to your party. Food and markets all very good. 3 excellent local restaurants - 1 within walking distance.
