It has been renovated and enlarged and now provides two bedrooms (one double & one twin - 3rd bed available), lounge-dining room, bathroom, separate toilet, and a kitchen which opens directly onto a large private garden with table, chairs, barbecue etc.
Local Area DetailsSituated in an old farm setting in a small hamlet, in the rolling Vendee countryside, it is very peaceful but is in easy reach local amenities & attractions such as the lake and forest at Mervent, picturesque village of Vouvant, the famous Puy du Fou historical parc and the tranquil waterways of the Venise Verte. It is about one hour and a quarter drive from La Rochelle and the wonderful west coast beaches and a little more to Poitiers/Futuroscope. The vinyards and chateaux of the Loire Valley are a drive of about an hour and a half.
The nearby village has two bar/restaurants, a good boulangerie/épicerie and a tennis court. Just 6 kms to larger shops, supermarkets, bank, restaurants etc., at La Chataigneraie, which also has a very good outdoor swimming pool. There are several markets in the area such as Fontenay le Comte & Coulonge sur l'Autize.
In addition to the normal activities in the area it is also possible to take a 'baptism' flight in a microlite, test your agility on a tree-top assault course and take a turn on a go-karting track - all within ten minutes drive!
