Brand new luxury apartment in the beautiful Eagle Mounatins in the Czech Republic. The apartment is at the bottom of skiing slopes, 20 meters from the lifts. Ski hire, ski school, night skiing, cheap food and drinks, good local restaurants. Ski pass is approx. £10 per day and same for the ski hire. From spring to autum ideal for mountain biking, hiking, trips, sightseeing. Bike hire available. Ideal holiday. Direct coaches from and to Prague. The apartment consists of modern kitchen with appliances, lounge with double bed, sofa, cabinets. Bathroom, balcony. TV, satelite, DVD player.
Local Area DetailsThis apartment is set in a middle of beautiful Eagle Mountains (Orlicke Hory) in the Eastern Czech. Ideal for skiing, mountain biking, hiking, walking, country crossing, field trips etc. There are direct coaches from and to Prague that take about 2.5 hours. There are lovely towns nearby with lots of places of interest (castles, lakes, museums...). You can also make a trip to Poland which is only few miles away.
Additional InformationAbout Weather/Climate/TemperatureThe winters are very cold with lots of snow, ideal for skiing, snowboarding, cross country. The slopes are open from December until end of March. Summers are very hot and ideal for walking, hiking, cycling, swimming.
About BarsThere is few bars in Destne, they are usually part of a hotel. Drinks are very cheep, half a liter of beer usually costs around £0.50. There is lots of unusual spirits to try, the typical Czech drinks are Becherovka, Slivovice, Vodka, Fernet. In winter you should warm yourself up with grog (rum and tea) or mulled wine!
About NightlifeIn the evening you can go out to try out the local cuisine, there is couple of good restaurants worth trying.
About TransportThere are direct coaches from and to Prague which take about 2.5 hours (140 km). There is also a bus service to few nearby towns, where you can go shopping and exploring.
About SkiingSkiing is very good, with about 7 slopes open. The lifts are about 20 meters from the apartment. The slopes are not massive but are great for average skier or beginner. You can hire your skis and boots here for a very reasonable price (around £10 per day). You can also go night skiing and there is a skiing school for your kids.
About Airport InformationThe Prague airport is about 140 km away but you can catch a direct coach there. Alternatively hire a car in Prague and drive it is very straight forward.

About DrivingIn winter you definitely need winter tires on your car! You can hire a car in Prague and drive to Destne. It is quite easy drive, you will go through towns such as Podebrady, Hradec Kralove and Dobruska.
About WalkingLots of beautiful walks, very hilly but stunning views!
About ShoppingOnly few shops in the town but all you need. There is no cach point here! The nearest cash point would be in Dobruska which is 18 km away. There is also quite few shops in Dobruska and on the bus it takes about 30 minutes to get there.
