Situated between Narbonne (20 min) with its beautiful Mediterranean beaches and Carcassonne (20 min) the nearest airport. The town centre is a mere 5 minutes walk, with all commercial facilities and the traditional market stalls on Wednesdays. The surrounding area is primarily vineyards, thyme-scented garrigue and pinède.
This stone built renovated house of unique character, enjoys the privilege of the village facilities and countryside life, has spacious accommodation for maximum 6 people. The key features of the area include the beaches, Narbonne-plage (35min), local open swimming pool (5 min), lake de Jouarres for all water sports with all facilities including showers and bathing supervision (15 min), there is hill walking, mountain biking paths and cycling along the Canal du Midi all within 30 minutes.
For those interested with outdoors activities: there are many sports to choose from, in particular:
Kayaking: the Aude river has some good kayaking options.
The Golf course is located at the Domaine d'Auriac.
After a day in any of the close stall markets offering fresh local produce or a ramble among the vineyards stretching along the Corbieres valley and Minervois hills head to the nearby La de Jouarres to cool down and let the children enjoy the water sports activities. End your day with a visit to one of the many excellent restaurants in the vicinity, or you feel too tired then make use of the BBQ in your own the garden.

When it is the children turn to have their own day on the beach, treat them to any of the beautiful Mediterranean beaches, the furthest away is about 40 to 45 minutes away.
Before you leave treat all the family to the Spanish border about 1 hour and a half to indulge on duty free bargains including spirits, perfume and souvenirs and enjoy a paella or whatever Spanish dish you fancy at down ton earth prices

Saint Pierre la Mer, a beauty spot with market stalls is a mere 1 hour 30 mins from your home on a busy week-end. Alternatively, there is a lac, Lac de Jouarres, only 15 mins from the house. You will find not only a nice beach but also all facilities for parking, shower/WC etc. and offer also all water facilities such as surfing and sailing. The lac is well kept and all sports are supervised.
