Local Area Details

The holiday cottage is in the south of the Alentejo, at the foot of "Caldeirão's" mountain range.
It is at 68 km (1-hour driving) from the Faro's international airport (Algarve) and the south coast, as well as from 95 km (1h30-driving) from the west coast. It is 12 km from Almodôvar, a small town which has: supermarkets, a variety of shops, a closed market, banks, post-office, restaurants, swimming-pool, tennis court and man-made lakes seeked for fishing and water-sports.
Cultural sites such as Mértola, Beja, Evora, etc are also of interest and the Algave is at 40 Km from you.
If your desire is to spend a day shopping, or to go out on the evening, etc, you can easily go to the small surrounding towns (eg. the above mentioned), to the Algarve or to the northern cities and come back to rest in your quiet cottage.
