Bed and Breakfast in New York, United States

Property Details of New York Bed and Breakfast

The Crown Point Bed and Breakfast is an 1886 Queen-Anne "Painted Lady" manor house situated on 5 1/2 acres of parklike grounds on the Vermont border of northern New York State in the heart of the Adirondack Reserve in the pristine Champlain Valley 1/4 mile from Lake Champlain. The Inn is a rare vision in ten shades of beige, pink, burgundy and blue. This grand dame of historical detail is adorned with a two-story turret, bay windows, and a stained-glass enclosed porch extending over the front entrance. In the breathtaking foyer, the majestic staircase-guilded with a carved oak balustrade sweeping to a crescent-shaped rail on the second floor landing-was once displayed in the Victorian exhibit of the 1890 World's Fair. Throughout the manor, a variety of floral wallpaper embellishes eleven different kinds of carved-wood paneling and flooring. Artwork and collectables from the period abound at every turn. Owners and developers of the Inn since 1988, Hugh and Sandy Johnson spare no expense to surround their guests with Victorian finery, from antique furniture to antique pitchers of ice water-kissed with lemon and mint-in each bed-chamber. At guests preference, a complementary split of port and sherry is also offered. The Inn features six distinctively antique decorated bed-chambers decorated with brass or antique wood beds, paddle fans, lace and floral fabrics and alcoves with lacy parapets. Each private bath salon contains upscale hotel amemities such as silk robes, fleece slippers, shower massage and hair-dryers. Nightly turn-down service is performed with Astor's from England hazelnut truffles placed on guest's pillows. The Inn also contains three equally romantic parlours and common areas each with its own original and working carved stone fireplace in which guests may choose to lounge. Guests may also choose to relax on one of three porches in view of fountains and blooming gardens, or to soak in our recently added outdoor SPA. The Inn contains two formal parlours, a gift shop in the Reception Room, and a rustic Adirondack Gaming Parlour styled after the early-1900 camps of the region. An extraordinary gourmet breakfast is served daily in the Waverly appointed oak-paneled dining parlour set to classical music and before a crackling fire during chilly weather. With all of its touches, the Crown Point Bed and Breakfast is an inn of utmost luxury inviting enough to make one-self at home. Since its inception, Hugh and Sandy Johnson have created for their guests the truly romantically ultimate as well as their unique and memorable "Victorain Experience".
