Lake Windermere is about 1 mile away (roughly a 20-25 minute walk) were they have various lake cruises, including an evening dinner cruise in season, there is also the open top bus that does variuous tours. Grassmere, Hawkshead and Ambleside are all a short drive away as is Hill Top farm (Beattrix Potter). There are also many activities to do nearby i.e. golf, sailing, canoeing and horse riding.
