Self contained Gite for two people within the owner's secure property, complete with private swimming pool exclusive to guests. Easy to find, situated on a quiet road between Agen and Villeneuve-sur-Lot, just outside the village of Laroque-Timbaut. Overlooking two valleys on either side with lovely views.

Enjoy the lovely views, the landscaped gardens, the flora and fauna of fhe area (there are deer at the bottom of the garden), and of course, the crickets! Or just relax by the pool with a cool bottle of wine.

This modern Gite comprises an en-suite double bedroom, separate WC, large summer kitchen, (recently re-built), with BBQ.

The Kitchen is well equipped with fridge, microwave, oven/grill, small cooker, all necessary crockery and utensils, table and chairs around the pool. The kitchen also contains a corner BBQ.

The Bedroom is en-suite with large wardrobes and a radio/CD player.

The Gite has its own water tank so there is plenty of hot water.

Guests are welcome to sit in the gardens and enjoy the surrounding countryside. It is a bird-spotting paradise, not to mention the butterflies (the scarce swallowtail?) which are attracted by the many lavender shrubs, the lizards and the occasional red squirrel.

There is plenty of parking and guests will be provided with a gate operator as the property is accessed by two electric gates.

The gite faces south but because of the large roof area, is well shaded and remains cool with the tiled floor.

As the gite is all on one level, it is suitable for disabled visitors or the elderly.

Local Area Details

Easy to find, situated on a quiet road between Agen and Villeneuve-sur-Lot, just outside the village of Laroque-Timbaut. Overlooking two valleys on either side with lovely views.

Lots of good fishing. Bajamont (about 3 miles) has a 52 acre lake.

Surrounded by bastide towns which provide day and evening markets.

Laroque-Timbaut - 3 km - bustling little village with a bank, Post Office, an Huit a Huit (co-op), Tabac/bar, two bread/patisserie shops and a couple of hairdressers. There is also a Tourist Office which has numerous leaflets on events around the area. Local market on Thursdays.

Various other events throughout the year such as the Tomato Festival in Marmande, or the Prune Festival in St Aubin. There is France's only Foie Gras Museum about 10 miles away. Lots of fishing and horse riding.

Agen - (on the river Garonne) is a large town with many interesting things to do - art galleries, a wonderful cathedral and many historic sites. Agen is also on the main TGV line from Paris to Toulouse, stopping at Bordeaux (Western route). It is a 4 hour journey from Paris.

Villeneuve-sur-Lot is to the North and also has a bustling market. Many water sports.

Within easy reach of lovely villages such as Beauville, Villeneuve (on the way visit Pujols), Montflanquin, and bastide towns like Montpazier and Lauzerte. Cahors is an excellent day trip with wonderful views over the Lot. A bit further away are the scenic villages of St Cirq La Popie and Rocamadour.

The nearest main airport is Bergerac (Ryanair from Stanstead, or Flybe from Bristol), however, there are now local flights from Paris to Agen which is approx. 15 Kms SW of the chalet.
