The property is situated one hour north-east of Toulouse or a comfortable one day drive from the channel ports. Alternatively, fly with major airlines or low-cost Easyjet and Flybe to Toulouse or with Ryanair to Rodez just 76 km away.

The gites are in the beautiful unspoiled Pays des Bastides area of the Tarn, in South-West France. Dating from circa 1700 the Corps de Ferme is set in three acres of tranquil hillside, amidst beautiful farms and woodlands.

La Grange is one of two gites situated in the stone-built former barn. Both properties have been tastefully converted and equipped to a high standard whilst retaining original features.

Enjoy the far reaching views of rolling hills from the 11x6m heated saline swimming pool. A large abri provides a shady area to relax away from the heat.

The open plan kitchen is equipped to a high standard including an electric oven and fitted gas hob, dishwasher, large fridge with a good size freezer compartment, microwave and kettle. A good range of stainless steel saucepans, a knife set and kitchen equipment are provided so you can enjoy cooking with the freshest ingredients picked up in the local markets. Your terrace is equipped for al fresco eating and has its own BBQ.

Relax on one of the two comfortable sofas and watch English TV, watch a DVD (a large selection can be hired on site) or listen to one of your own CD’s on the stereo system. A log burning stove provides warmth for a cosy spring or autumn evening.

The bedrooms are spacious with stylish quality furniture and comfortable bedding. The upsatirs bedroom also has the two additional single beds if required.To pamper yourself, the en-suite bathrooms are newly fitted and have large walk-in showers, baths and heated towel rails.

Laguépie is an 8-minute drive away and has two excellent mini markets, three restaurants, two bakers, a butcher, a doctor, a chemist, a post office. Further restaurants and hypermarkets can be found in towns ten to twenty minutes away and also in Albi, the “county� town, twenty-five minutes away.

Attractions
Visit some of the 36 Bastide towns : a visitor favourite is Cordes-sur-Ciel or Najac. Albi, once the Cathar stronghold, has many restaurants, pedestrian alleyways, museums, and the Cathedral is the largest brick built structure in the world.

Cap’Decouverte (a 20-minute drive) is a recreational site of 1400 acres, with everything from snowboarding to karting and 35 km of cycle tracks. Also part of the site is a mining museum where you can take a trip down the disused mine.

Don’t miss Gaillac and its vineyards planted by the Romans. Go wine tasting and select your favourite bottle(s) for the evening !

Cap'Decouverte (15km) - Are you a daredevil or just curious for something new and different ? How does a 1,600 acre park jam-packed with action sports, music and fun sound to you ?

Cap'Découverte, the only site of its kind in Europe, is located in a disused open-pit coalmine that's been reconverted into a gigantic leisure centre featuring a spectacular amphitheatre 1,300 meters in diameter and 230 meters deep, entirely dedicated to fun!



Main Towns

Only 5mins away is Laguepie a lively market town famous for its chestnut festival which is situated between the popular bastide towns of Cordes-sur Ciel, Najac and St. Antonin Noble Val.

There were 36 Bastides built in the Tarn, and and just 15 minutes away the most renown is Cordes-sur-Ciel (Cordes in the sky). The town boasts 30 eateries, fifty craftsmen, and numerous festivals. For example, the Fete du Grand Fauconnier recreates the visit of the Templars in 1291 en route to battle in The Holy Land. Other Bastides not to be missed are Najac, Lisle-sur-Tarn, St.Antonin Noble Val, Villfranche-de-Rouergue, Lavaur, Caylus, Monesties, Penne, and Gaillac

The "County Town" of the Tarn is Albi. Once the Cathedral stronghold of the region, sights to see are the Cathedral, the largest building in the world constructed from (Toulouse) brick, the Toulouse Lautrec museum, and the wonderful labyrinth of medieval streets, now purely for pedestrians.
