Orchard View Cottage- Self contained accommodation in a peaceful,rural setting.
Nestled amidst twenty acres of private land consisting of pasture, native bush, and riverside the cottage overlooks the kiwifruit orchard with pine forest to the rear. Two bedrooms sleep four people in comfort. The main bedroom has a queen size bed whilst the second bedroom has two single bunk beds. In the living area you will find a double sofa bed as an alternative to the bunk beds and a port a cot is available on request. There is an open plan kitchen/living/dining area, a large shower and vanity area and a separate WC. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, microwave, fridge/freezer toaster etc and there is satellite TV in the living area.
Outside the sunny deck is furnished with table, chairs and gas BBQ for outdoor living. Take time to sit back, relax, listen to the native birdsong and enjoy the view.

Local Area Details

The shops and cafes of Motueka are 15 minutes away as are the sandy beaches of Kaiteriteri and Marahau. The cottage provides a perfect base for exploring the Abel Tasman National Park and all the activities which that provides such as snorkeling, sea kayaking, walking and surfing and swimming with seals. There is a golf course in Motueka and plenty of pottery trails and wineries in the area for you to enjoy.

Nelson is situated at the top of the South Island and has a higher than average amount of sunshine hours for the country!

The beaches are safe and sandy. There are 3 main beaches close to the cottage, Kaiteriteri, Marahau and Little Kaiteriteri.

About Fishing

Fish for brown trout from the property which has the Riwaka River as its boundary.The larger Motueka River is only 10 minutes away.

About Scenery/Beauty Spots

At the end of the road is the Riwaka Resurgence with its caves and Crystal Pool. The Abel Tasman National Park is also close by with its stunning flora and views. Head over the hill to Takaka and Golden Bay ending at Farewell Spit, a great day trip.

About Local Restaurants

There is plenty of choice in the local restaurants of Motueka, a la carte, fine dining, pizzarias and budget or further afield is Mapua with its fresh fish restaurants. For a more lively venue Nelson is a 45 minute drive away.

About Children Activities

The property is home to dogs, horses, llamas, small farm animals, free range hens, peacocks, turkeys and ducks. The children are welcome to help with the feeding of the animals on site.

Motueka's 18 hole golf course is just 12 minutes away. A scenic course close to the sea.
