Property Details of Mediterranean Apartment

The Komurluk Apartments were built in the summer of 2004 originally intended as a boutique hotel. After careful modification, there are now 9 upscale and spacious apartments sharing a pool. These apartments arguably have the best views over Kalkan and the bay.

Number 8 is a two bedroomed apartment. There is a superking size bed in the master ensuite bedroom and a double bed in the guest ensuite bedroom. Both bedrooms have a balcony, are double glazed and airconditioned.

The kitchen/diner opens onto the spacious lounge which also has a balcony, stunning sea views and is airconditioned. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and all the equipment you would need to rustle up a simple snack or four course dinner!

The lounge is tastefully furnished in a contemporary style. There is a TV and DVD player and a CD/Radio.

There is a total of three well appointed shower-rooms and a utility room with a washing machine, iron and ironing board. All towels (incl. pool towels) are provided, as is all bedding.

A maid service operates to maintain the housekeeping of the apartment.

Local Area Details

The apartment is a fifteen minute walk to the picturesque town of Kalkan. Originally a fishing village, the town retains a feeling of sophistication, charm and character - no ravages of mass tourism can be found here!

The town has all the facilities to make a holiday here memorable. Banks, post office, supermarkets and pharmacies as well as local shops offering an array of carpets, souvenirs, glass, jewellery and clothing. Credit cards are accepted although watch for some restaurants charging a surcharge.

There are plenty of high quality yet inexpensive restaurants and the choice is endless! It is possible to eat very well here, and a three course dinner with wine can cost as little as £10!

Plenty of activities including white water rafting, paragliding, snorkelling and scuba make Kalkan an ideal venue for young and old, singles and couple to enjoy a fantastic holiday.

About Weather/Climate/Temperature

Although available throughout the year, the 'season' here is April to late October. In August, temperatures can become very hot so avoid this time of year if you dont like high temperatures! April to June and September and October are great times to go with very pleasant temperatures and long sunny days.

About Transport

The apartment is a fifteen minutes walk to the town, although taxis are plentiful and cheap. The main taxi rank is at the top of the main street and is ideally situated to take you home after an evening in the town. A journey from the town to the apartment will cost you approximately 5 lira (about £2)

About Beaches

The town beach is small but offers basic facilities - sun loungers, umbrellas etc. It is pebbly and has a shallow rake into the sea, perfect for swimming. The beach is not accesible by boats or other craft making it safe for children. A short drive away is Patara beach - 18kms of clear golden sands. Home of Santa Nicholas (Father Christmas) and the endangered loggerhead turtle, Patara is an idylic spot and well worth a visit to.

About Airport Information

Dalaman airport is served throughout the summer by charter flights from many UK airports. Transfers take up to 2 hours depending on stops and cost from £40 one way for a car or £55 for a minibus. We can arrange transfers for you and these are payable locally. In 2006, the new terminal opens at Dalaman offering much better facilities than its older counterpart! Out of season Onur Air (Turkish airline) is offering a weekly service from Manchester and Gatwick. Antalya airport is also an option although increases the transfer time and costs.

About Local Restaurants

Turkish food is a real delight! Similar to many Mediterranean countries it offers something for everyone! Meat, fish, mixed kebabs are all specialities. Vegetarians are well catered for also. With over 100 restaurants you really will be spoilt for choice. Most of the restaurants offer a roof top terrace which is great for people watching and to admire the skyline of the town! Great food, great wine and great company round off another great day on holiday in Kalkan!
