Laurel Cottage is the largest of our two cottages and is a three storey, stone built gite attached to the central barn and has been completely renovated to sleep six people and a baby in comfort.
The ground floor consists of a large open-plan living room with a wood-burning stove and fitted kitchen area, equipped with fride/freezer, gas cooker, microwave and dishwasher. There is a dining area and separate comfortable sitting area with a television, radio cassette & compact disc player.
On the first floor is a cork tiled bathroom with full sized bath, shower, washbasin and WC. There are two carpeted bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds, both are equiped with plenty of drawers, hanging and shelf space. This floor is heated by oil fired central heating, the radiators being controlled by a central thermostat.
On the second floor you will find a large carpeted bedroom which contains two single beds and a drop-sided cot, as well as a second washroom with basin and WC.
There is also a private sitting area outside the gite with a patio table, chairs and a barbeque where you can detatch yourself from the rest of the world and relax at the end of an exhausting day sightseeing!
Also on site is a games barn which has a table tennis table, bebe foot table and dartboard on the ground floor and a full size snooker table on the first floor.

Local Area Details

Cornean is a quiet rural hamlet within the beautiful confines of Northern Brittany. With magnicicent beaches lining its Northern shore. The Department's capital town of St. Brieuc is only half an hour away. Our L-shaped property consists of our own house, two gites and a games barn all surrounded by rolling countryside, farms, villages and small market towns. You will find us an hour from the ferry port of St. Malo and Roscoff is only ninety minutes away.
There is plenty to do whilst visiting Brittany. You can enjoy the facilities on site here, including our 10m by 5m outdoor swimming pool which is surrounded by a paved patio, safely enclosed by hedges and fences. A large games barn houses a ping-pong table, dart board and a full sized snooker table, solely here for your enjoyment. Bikes, barbeques and boules are also available foryour use and a shared washing machine is provided for both gites.
If you want to go further afield, you could try horse-riding, kayak/canoeing, tennis or fishing which can all be enjoyed within a five mile radius of Cornean. The scenic Lake at Bosmeliac is about ten miles away, while only slightly further, near the historic town of Mur-de-Bretagne is Lake Guerledan with a full range of water sports. Several golf courses can also be reached in 30-50 minutes, while only 10 minutes away from here is Moncontour, a medieval town complete with 11th Century ramparts built on a near-vertical hillside. The town of Loudeac, which is a 15 minute drive away, has a superb swimming pool with flume, concert hall and exhibition centre.
Within only a five minute journey into Gausson you will find a shop selling bread and most basic food stuffs. A Post Office and restaurant with a bar are close by and approximately three miles away you will come across the market towns of Plouguenast and Ploeuc-sur-Lie, one with a weekly market, and where you will be provided with more extensive shopping facilities, restaurants and bars etc. A good range of restaurants are available to suit all tastes, varying from creperie/pizzerias and brasserie/grills through to top class French cuisine and fish restaurants.
There is an excellent choice of sandy beaches within half an hour's drive of us. The coastline is particularly attractive and interesting to explore at any time of year with cliff-top walks and quaint fishing villages. Other attractions include the historic Chateau at Josselin and only an hour away is the picturesque towns of Dinan and Mont St. Michel on the Brittany/Normandy Border.
