The main attraction is Hadrian's Wall but its not just a Wall ,( although we are near the highest most spectacular section). but there are numerous excavations ,interpretation centres , Museums and replica sites along the whole legnth of 73 miles . there is a bus to take you to each site if you dont want to use your car . and there are re-enactments/entertainments
study weekends , you can even take part in excavating alongside the archaeologists , or take a guided walk .look out for the walking festivals and carnival events. during the spring summer and autumn . theres golf/swimming/riding nearby and other sightseeing venues such as castles
Harry Potter's Castle to name one , National trust houses ,abbeys , Churches and Beautiful Gardens to visit . its not far to the Lake district for a days outing or to the Beautiful Northumberland Coast, and its only 20 miles to Scotland .A local bus comes through the village every hour and the nearest railway station is 3 miles in Haltwhistle our nearest town with all facilities , shops ,swimming pool sports centre etc.dont go by the streetmap for directions but contact us or look on our main website for a map
