The holiday farm Il Fortino is situated near Lake Trasimeno, at the centre of a small village, in the hills overlooking Tuscany. It is set in grounds of 2 hectares with olive, cypress and other trees. Il Fortino has 3 buildings divided into 10 simply furnished apartments: Rustico, Villa Padronale and Casa Nuova all with independant entrance. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Thermal pool, health cures at 20 km. Access: motorway A1 Firenze - Roma, exit number "Valdichiana". Then road 75bis - SS. 71. Railway station in the resort. Cortona 25 km. Chiusi 15 km. Chianciano Terme 20 km. Castiglione del lago was built on a limestone headland which used to be the 4thisland on the Lake Trasimeno. Many archeological finds from its Etrurian originswere discovered in the countryside. Many beaches. Daily ferry trips to the other 3 islands. For arrivals by plane: airport Firenze (FLR) 135 km.
