Property Details of Scotland Cottage

- The Stable - This is a newly built wooden lodge out to a high standard. A tastefully decorated and comfortable lounge with a colour TV, video and an electric fire provide a pleasant homely atmosphere. A large window outlooks over the fields towards Ardmucknish Bay. The small kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, cooker, microwave, toaster, washing machine, crockery and cutlery. The bathroom includes a toilet, shower and wash hand basin. There is a twin room and one double room heated by panel heaters.

- The Barn -This is a 19th century barn comfortably converted to provide excellent facilities. It has a bright and cosy open plan lounge, kitchen area with breakfast bar, fridge, cooker and toaster. There is a colour TV, video and electric fire in the lounge area. One double and one twin bedroom each with wash hand basins and shaver points. The shower room also contains toilet and wash hand basin. Panel heaters provide heating.

- The Steading - This luxurious mobile home - idyllically situated in a peaceful location on it's own ground with patio. There is one double and one twin bedroom, a lounge with a three piece suite and colour TV. The kitchen/dining room and the bathroom are beautifully fitted out with all mod cons. There is also a gas fire, central heating, washing machine, cooker, fridge and toaster.

Bed linen is supplied, please bring your own towels. The meter is read at the end of your stay. Dogs must be kept under strict control and you must clean up after them.

Local Area Details

Oban, known as the 'Gateway' to the isles off the west coast is easily accessible by bus, train, boat or car. The isle of Mull is only a 40 minute ferry ride away, which means that on a day trip you can visit such sights as the Abbey at Iona or Fingal's Cave. There are many more such sights on Mull.

Further to the north is Ben Nevis, along with Aonach Mhor and Fort William. To the south lies Kilmartin (home of the famous standing stones), and Crinan Canal.

There is a plethora of places to visit in the area, such as, Inveraray Castle, The Falls of Lora, Cruachan Power Station (the Hollow Mountain) and A World in Miniature to name but a few.


There is plenty of opportunity to take part in sporting activities like sailing, golf, tennis, fishing, cycling etc. The gardens open to the public (Arduaine, Achnaclioch, Ardchatten Priory and Crarae near Inveraray) are a joy in the summer months for everyone.

Evening entertainment ranges from Ceilidhs to eating out at local pubs and restaurants. Oban has a wide variety of shops for your pleasure. These range from Supermarkets to small family owned specialty shops (butchers, bakers, fishmongers etc.).
