Sidsmums is a small family run backpackers set in the foothills of the Pyrenees in a medieval village just 10kms from the famous Cite of Carcassonne. We provide self catering accommodation for the independent traveller and the opportunity to make new friends whilst relaxing in our spacious garden, or sharing a bottle of wine over dinner or a game of chess or cards.

We operate two free shuttles daily between our tranquil village and the bustling town of Carcassonne. We are also able to arrange pickups from the local airport at Carcassonne.

There are lakes at Carcassonne and Chalabre; Roman sites, enormous crystal caves and many other things besides. The district is spectacular for walking and cycling - bikes are available for hire from us - and, of course, you can also sample the local wines or just relax in the garden on the many sunny days we experience in this wonderful area.
