Property Details of Costa de Almeria Apartment

Our 2 bedroom holiday apartment is situated on the lovely Veramar 3 complex and has a communal swimming pool and play area for the smaller children. It has a large, private sun terrace complete with sun loungers and a large balcony off the lounge for 'al fresco' dining. This apartment can sleep up to 5 people and is fully furnished in typical Andalusian style. There are two bedrooms one double one twin bedded both with large built in wardrobes complete with plenty of hangers. There is a pull out single bed under the settee and a highchair in the large storage cupboard. A cot can be arranged on request. The BLUE FLAG beach of Vera Playa is just a few minutes walk away and during the season has a good choice of beach bars serving good food and tapas from lunchtime until late evening. Within a short distance of the apartment is a selection of supermarkets, banks, restaurants and bars. This is an ideal place for a good family holiday.

Local Area Details

There is a water sports centre with equipment hire next to the Valle del Este Beach Club. Other bars and restaurants can be found further along the coast going towards Garrucha. A water park (seasonal May - September) is just a 100m away, so an easy walk. Pony trekking, quad biking, diving, golf range & cycle hire available locally. An Internet café/bar is a short walk away, in the nearby Puerto Rey shopping centre, which also has a variety of small shops, bars and a supermarket.

About Family Activities

Mini Hollywood (recently renamed Oasis) is another day out that is worth the journey. Up in the mountains in the Tabernas desert, you will see where some of the 'Spaghetti Westerns' were filmed and have the chance to watch shows and gunfights. The zoo here is brilliant and in the high season there is a large swimming pool to cool off in, so take towels with you.

About Scenery/Beauty Spots

Cabo de Gata natural park is well worth a visit. It is about an hours drive away but is spectacular. Lovely beaches, coves, dunes and mountain ranges and little Spanish villages make it a great day out. Take a picnic and chill out. The apartment has a cool box just for these occassions.

About Airport Information

The nearest airport (Almeria)is about 50 minutes away with San Javier (Murcia) being an hour away. There is a new toll road from San Javier all the way to the exit needed for the apartment at Vera. Alicante is just under 2 hours but this is still worth looking at as the journey from Alicante to our apartment is motorway all the way, making for an easy journey. All airports are now serviced by low cost airlines from most UK airports.

About General Entertainment

The water park is within walking distance and is the only one in the area. It is only open from May until September and has a special childrens section. Family tickets are available as well as 2 day passes.

About Golfing

If it is golf you fancy then this area of the Costa Almeria has plenty of choice. There are four Golf courses just short driving distances away, with Mojacar hosting Club de Golf Cortijo Grande, with its elegant Andalucian style clubhouse and ClubMarina Golf Mojacar, which has greens right down to the seafront. Vera is home to the Valle del Este course and the spectacular Desert Springs Golf Club a true Arizona desert style course. About Transport

Once you arrive at the apartment, there is plenty within walking distance. If you are looking to go further afield then obviously a car would be necessary.

About Beaches

The main beach is approximately 200 meteres walk away and is a blue flag beach like most in the area. During the high season the beach is patrolled by life guards. All along the coast, there are places to relax and sunbathe, only the blue flag beaches have life guards. There is a water sports area near the Valle del Este beach club, hiring out boats pedalos etc. The seperate naturist area is about 500 metres away and not near the apartment.

About Nightlife

This is a fairly quite area, so the nightlife mainly centres around the bars and restaurants. This is something the Spanish like to do, eat, drink and talk late into the night. The whole family like to go out together which is why this area is so suitable for families. Mojacar has a nightclub, but it is a 20 minute drive away.

About Weather/Climate/Temperature

This area enjoys approximately 300 days of sunshine a year, so is an ideal place for summer and winter breaks. (Typical mid-day temperatures in January, 69°F and in July and August 99°F).

About Bars

If you want to travel a little further, a five minute drive will take you into the fishing town of Garrucha. This is a place with a wonderful atmosphere and a huge choice of restaurants lining the streets. Garrucha is best known for its wonderful fish and you won't be disappointed. A longer drive takes you to Mojacar town or beach resort with more bars and restaurants. Here the choice is endless whether its restaurants on the beach, snack bars, Italian, Chinese, Mexican cuisine you will probably find it here.

About Shopping

A large supermarket called Bodum is close to the apartment with a larger one a short walk away or a few minutes drive. The larger supermarket is in a new shopping centre and they are adding shops and cafes to it all the time. In the opposite direction is Puerto Rey centre with internet cafe, fashion shops and banks with ATM's.
