About Fishing
As with most French towns and villages, Ernée has its own lake. The majority of these lakes are available for fishing. Permits can be purchased from various shops and tabacs for a very low cost. Ask Alan for more information as he is a keen fisherman himself. There are also numerous rivers, but permits for these are a lot more expensive.
About Airport Information
Both Rennes and Dinard airports are reasonably close (an hour to an hour and a half driving time) and have regular flights from budget airlines such as Ryanair and Flybe. If you need to hire a vehicle during your stay, this can be arranged at either airport with some of the most well known hire companies.
About Children Activities
Days Out
Mont-Saint-Michel: There are many things to see and to do; the main street with its shops, the museums, the walk around the ramparts with views out over the sands of the bay, as well as the spectacle of the sea rushing in to surround the Mont at each high tide. Other attractions include the Archeoscope (mulimedia show), the Tiphaine lodge and night visits to the abbey.
La Foret de Villecartier: A miniature port has been fitted out there where young and old can navigate in mockup boats, which are copies of ferries, boats with paddle wheels or tug boats. A course of 3 km opened in July 2005 in the trees. there is also a quiet fishing lake just a short walk through the trees.
L'Ange Michel Leisure Park: With more than 30 attractions there is something for everyone including aquatics, adventure, history and culture, and even a snack bar.
There are also the usual museums, chateaux and even troglodyte caves for those keen to explore and discover the area.

About Local Restaurants
There are plenty of places to eat out in the town. They vary from a self-service cafeteria (only at lunchtimes), to kebab house, pizza restaurant, creperie as well as quieter and more select restaurants. They are all reasonably priced and welcome families and children. Most can speak a little English so if your French isn't too good, no problem.
About Walking
Walking is a favourite pastime in France, and this is borne out by the number of off-road walks available. Detailed maps can be purchased for the commune of Ernée, which includes 15 towns or villages, and gives suggestions of various routes together with places of interest on the way such as the dolmens and menhirs of the region, local sculptures (including those of the world famous sculptor Louis Derbré) and other historical and cultural features.
