Kitsilano Cottage, the structure, is a heritage designation qualified 1916 Craftsman bungalow, typical of the Kitsilano neighbourhood. It has been meticulously restored and ethically upgraded to provide modern living convenience with architectural integrity with its origins.
A Suite @ Kitsilano Cottage is a single, upscale, self-contained, garden level suite. It is approximately 825 square feet. There are two bedrooms. One has a king size bed and the other a queen size bed. There is, a double sized sofabed in the living room. The furnishings are a blend of antique and authentic hardwood reproductions in the Craftsman or, as our guests from the United Kingdom fondly refer to it, Macintosh style.
The suite has its own private entry, patio, separate private phone line, LCD TV with DVD/VCR and digital cable, Broadband Internet access, CD player, a single bathroom with tub/shower, full Cook's kitchen facilities, in suite laundry facilities, for guest use. Daily rate guests, staying over a week, are provided weekly linen changes and cleaning service. Breakfast is not served. Also for daily rate guests', the suite is provisioned with, fresh fruit and baking, coffee and tea preparation supplies for a complimentary, self catered, continental breakfast, for the first morning. Beyond that, we recommend the many wonderful restaurants, within walking distance. There is always the option of using the suite's fabulously equipped cooking facilities for preparing meals. There are several grocers, within easy walking distance, offering a good variety of your favourite, meal preparation ingredients. Please note, we are a non-smoking facility. While cigarette smoking outside is permitted, absolutely no smoking indoors is allowed. Unfortunately, A Suite @ Kitsilano Cottage has no provision to accommodate pets. Kitsilano District - Clearly one of the most desirable urban residential neighbourhoods in the world. It is cosmopolitan and near the warming influence of the waterfront, keeping the weather in a moderate range year around. An area typified by its myriad Arts and Crafts design homes, lush gardens, green spaces and chic business areas. Most of the very finest restaurants and nightlife venues in all of Greater Vancouver, a city renowned for its great food, are within walking distance. Both wonderful boutique shopping and several beaches, again all within easy, safe walking distance, supplement this.
Granville Island: A must on any visitor's list, Granville Island is built around a Public Market and a devotion to the Arts. Theatres, artist studios and fine dining venues abound. Or rent a boat or kayak and tour the beautiful waterways that define this city's natural beauty.
Downtown and Stanley Park: Just across the Burrard Street Bridge, an Architectural highlight itself. The downtown core offers the cosmopolitan appeal of Robson Street, shopping at some of the most recognized names from Paris to Rodeo Drive and boundless nightlife, cultural venues. The 2011 Low Season rate is 5/night and the 2011 High Season rate, other than Christmas/New Year's is 5/night, for a single or for two persons sharing. Christmas/New Year's rate is 5/night. Additional adults are charged at /night. This charge would apply to a second person if they were to use the second bedroom. Children, 12 years old and under are charged at /night and are welcome. Weekly stays, of a minimum 7 consecutive days, are discounted 5% and stays of 14 or more consecutive days 10%. Please inquire about monthly rates.
Low Season has a minimum 2 night stay requirement and High Season, other than Christmas has a minimum 3 night stay requirement. For the Christmas period, this is increased to 5 nights.
We operate on a 30 day cancellation policy. Reservations not cancelled 30 days prior to the proposed check in date, will be billed the full stay, total amount. If we are able to sell the time or part of it, to another party, those proceeds can be refunded. The maximum amount is up to the cost of your own reservation, less a minimum, one night's stay equivalent, hold back to recover costs. While we do not endorse any specific policy or agent, we do reccommend trip cancellation insurance be secured from a reputable broker. Reservations, using your credit card information, may be made by telephone, fax or secure email.
