On the Silver Coast, the house is on the edge of a quiet village on a loop off the coast road running from Foz do Arelho to Sao Martinho do Porto. On the sea side of the house are cliffs affording lovely views and sunsets. There are a mass of restaurants to suit every pocket, with a large selection of wines. The House: A converted farmhouse in the village of Casais de Boa Vista consists of four twin bedded rooms, the one downstairs has two stout bunk beds as well, two bathrooms and a shower room which is suitable for wheelchair users. Well equipped kitchen with a large breakfast table, gas/electric cooker, fridge/freezer, double sink, coffee maker, food blender, microwave and dishwasher. Across the hall is the diningroom which seats ten and a large sittingroom with an open fire and French windows onto a patio. Each room has views across the forest of pine and eucalyptus to hills. The pool is across the courtyard, is tiled and 9m x 4 and a half with pool furniture. For access for wheelchairs there is a path going round the back.

Local Area Details

Places to visit: Obidos, originally Roman, a walled village with delightful narrow streets, full of pottery shops and the castle that is now a Pousada.
Caldas da Rainha, a market town with good restaurants, a fruit and veg market and a large and clean fish market. It is the centre of a pottery region.
Nazare, a lovely tourist place to wander along the sea front and shop for typical local cork and pottery.
Alcobaca has a 14th century cathedral, and in Batalha (about 40 minutes away) a cathedral which can rival any in Europe.
Praia del Rey golf course is about 40 minutes away, near Peniche.
For beaches the Obidos Lagoon is three miles to the south and Sao Martinho bay 3 miles north, both huge and very safe. There are restaurants on or near both beaches.
Along the coast road is the Greenhill Nightclub which is visited from all over Portugal which has a good reputation.
In the summer boats go from Peniche to Berlenga Island which is a bird sanctuary.
Lisbon airport is one and a quarter hours away, but Faro is a possibility as there is now a new and fast road. It is usually cheaper and has more choice for flights.
