Very comfortable cottage has 2 bedrooms, one with king-size bed and other with 2 singles. Airconditioning, BBQ, tennis court, wood fires in winter, canoes, rowboat, jetty and boat ramp, bushland walks, friendly kangaroos and excellent birdwatching opportunites. Poltalloch Station is a working beef cattle and sheep station with 22 historic buildings, including the shearing shed, stables, jetty house, magnificent homestead and Pt Malcolm lighthouse. Enjoy a guided tour of the old buildings, walk in our paddocks, swim from our private beach, tour the Coorong National Park or just relax on your private verandah and watch the sunset over the waters of the lake.

Local Area Details

Situated on on the southern shore of Lake Alexandrina, Australia's largest freshwater lake and close to the internationally significant Coorong National Park. As well as the many attractions and activities for our guests that are located on our property, you can explore the National Park on your own or on a guided tour, visit the wineries at Langhorne Creek, visit the River Murray, enjoy drives around the lakes through pleasant rural scenery, visit a nearby dairy at milking time and see Pt Malcolm lighthouse which is perched on top of a cliff in one of our paddocks. At Poltalloch, guests enjoy excellent birdwatching opportunities, walking in our pristine bushland and along the lakeshore, tennis, canoeing, fishing, seeing native animals and farm animals. You can experience Australian country life today as well as what life was like at an isolated cattle and sheep station in the days of paddlesteamers. Walk around our heritage-listed farm village, or enjoy a guided tour of the Shearing Shed, Old General Store, Carpenter's and Blacksmith's workshops, Groom's Room, Buggy Room and Homestead front gardens.
