Includes 2 master bedrooms, private rear garden, 2 bathrooms, wood fires in winter and plenty of space. Poltalloch Station is a working cattle and sheep station with many historic buildings and a history that dates back to 1839. Our guests enjoy experiencing Australian country life and nature in a beautiful lakeside setting. Activities available include canoes, jetty, swimming in the lake, birdwatching, bushwalks in our native pine forest and along the lakeshore, tennis, feeding our friendly kangaroos and horses and watching the sunset over the water. You can enjoy a guided tour of our historical buildings and displays to learn about life on an isolated farm, or just relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility.

Local Area Details

Lake Alexandrina is Australia's largest freshwater lake and you can enjoy boating, swimming, fishing and birdwatching. Coorong National Park is nearby - explore it on your own or on a guided tour of the very wild and natural wetlands and dunes. Visit Pt Malcolm lighthouse, the only inland lighthouse in the southern hemisphere, which was built to guide paddlesteamers plying the lakes and sits on top of a cliff in one of our paddocks. Although many of the local attractions are on Poltalloch Station, you can also easily visit the wineries at Langhorne Creek, the River Murray and enjoy pleasant drives in our rural area.
