For a uniquely wonderful experience of Bed and Breakfast, look no further. Frances Ceramics is located in a beautiful local style Maison de Maitre with large barns housing the workshop studio and gallery. The village is just north of the Garonne and overlooked by the Pyrenees, is easily accessible by train to Boussens, or plane to Toulouse.
This beautiful, traditional Maison de Maître is decorated and furnished in a traditional style, with four elegant double bedrooms, all of which are en suite and the two largest rooms each have a single bed in as well. Extra beds can be put into any of the rooms on request.

It is a working pottery, with a gallery, specialising in ceramic sculptures inspired by the surrounding countryside. Workshop and studio facilities are available at any time if required.

Both the house and the attractive gardens, offer several places to sit and relax in the evening, over a complimentary glass of wine or two, watching the sun set over the mountains. Nothing is too much trouble for your hosts who will be at hand, if required.

If you wish to eat out in the evening, babysitting is willingly undertaken. Evening meals are usually available if requested by the morning of the same day. All tastes are catered for! The 4 course evening meal including wine and coffee is €15.

Local Area Details

Steeped in history, with stunning Palaeolithic cave paintings, Gallo Roman villas, medieval churches, towns and villages; this friendly, warm-hearted region is only just beginning to wake up to its potential through tourism. Here, midway between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, overlooking the Pyrenees, is the perfect spot to stop for a night or two en route to or from Spain, or just to spend some time exploring the breathtaking splendour of the magical mountains and all the activities they have to offer,particularly walking,but also, kayaking, paragliding, caving, cycling, climbing, fishing, drawing, painting, sightseeing, skiing, sno-boarding and other winter sports.

Explore, draw and be inspired by the shapes, forms, tones, texture, colours, light and rhythms of the magical and dramatic Pyrenean landscape. Translate what you find into ceramic pieces or paintings capturing your feelings and responses to this magical landscape. Learn or further develop ceramic techniques to create individual pieces in clay. All work is once fired and so ready to take with you when you leave.

All tuition is by a highly qualified teacher of Art and Design, who specialises in ceramics and sculpture. Frances Marsden has a degree in 3D Design from Bath Academy of Art and a PGCE from Sussex University

There are 2 workshops and a large studio along with two large areas of covered outside workspace and a conservatory. In addition you may, of course, work outside in the spacious garden.
