Pelago is situated at 420 m., it is a small village of about 7.000 inhabitants, with an old centre consisting of a square, the "castello", a residence area aside the old church, and a relatively new one. It has different shops, two coffee bars, a petrol station, a garage, a chemist, and an eccellent restaurant. Its history is related to the Middle Ages struggle between guelfs and ghibelins and to the Abbey of Vallombrosa, 8 km away.
To get to Pelago: exit Firenze Sud and follow directions to Bagno a Ripoli-Pontassieve, in Pontassieve continue to Consuma, and turn past 4 km direction to Pelago. When you are in Pelago, turn round the church and drive 300 mt. more, after the bridge on the valley stroll turn left and find our house past 800 mt.

It is 23 km from Florence. It takes about 40 minutes to get to Florence by car, about 60 by bus (there are several buses during the day), about 10 to Pontassieve where you can get a train and be in Florence in 20 minutes, in Arezzo in 50 minutes.
In July the village hosts the On the road festival; Musical festival in the near Diacceto (4 km)from July to September.
