Property Details of Dordogne Farmhouse
Les Quatre Chenes is a beautifully converted French farmhouse - a very high quality property with plenty of space and all mod cons. The kitchen has a gas cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer and fridge/freezer. The lounge has satellite TV, video, DVD, CD and radio.
Bedrooms are, one family room with double bed, single bed and cot; one triple room with 3 single beds; 2 twin rooms each with 2 single beds
There is a landline telephone for which you can buy cards in the local shop.
The swimming pool (10m x 5m) is private for your use only and you have a choice of 2 bar-b-que patios. Guests are also invited to make full use of the gardens and grounds of 16 acres. We have outdoor table tennis, football, badminton, boule, sandpit and swings.
Le Fleix village is just over 1km and has a small supermarket, post office, petrol station, 2 bakers, butcher, stationer, bar/restaurant and hair dresser.
Local Area DetailsSte Foy La Grande, a charming old bastide town set on the River Dordogne with a delightful town square, is 7km and has a superb Saturday market, larger supermarkets and a multitude of other shops and restaurants.
Bergerac is 17 kms and is also an old bastide town, set on the river Dordogne with a picturesque town centre surrounded by restaurants. There are many shops, boutiques and supermakets here too. The airport is just outside the town and is less than 20 minutes from our house.
More energetic holiday makers can canoe of the River Dordogne, go horse riding with the local club, play golf in the magnigicent setting at Chateau Les Vigiers which also has two superb restaurants and play tennis at the local club. Lac de Gurcon is a popular and beautiful spot to relax while the children spend time jetskiing, peddle boating and swimming in the lake.
There are many restaurants in the area from the very inexpensive to the "special night out" price range - all with typically delicious French cuisine.
